Celebrating the Best of Bathurst’s Cool Climate Wines, Spirits, and Local Flavours
Who we are
The Bathurst Regional Vignerons Association (BRVA), proudly represented under the Wines of Bathurst banner, brings together the region’s passionate makers of wine, beer, and spirits. Through close collaboration with local producers, chefs, and creatives, the BRVA champions the best of Bathurst’s food and drink scene - hosting events that celebrate regional flavours and talent. The local community strongly supports the growing beverage industry, with many venues proudly serving Bathurst-made wines, beers, and spirits in restaurants, cafés, hotels, and bottle shops across the area.
One of the BRVA’s most significant achievements is the establishment of the National Cool Climate Wine Show, founded in 1999. From the beginning, the show brought together a panel of esteemed wine judges, setting a high benchmark by judging to international standards. Over the years, it has grown in both scale and reputation, earning its place as Australia’s premier event dedicated to cool climate wines. The show continues to serve as a vital platform for promoting, supporting, and providing expert feedback to Australia’s cool climate wine producers.
The Region
The Bathurst Wine Region, nestled in the cool climate of the Central Ranges of New South Wales, spans the local government areas of Bathurst and Oberon. Our vineyards sit at elevations between 700 and over 1000 metres, where long, gentle ripening seasons help produce elegant wines with subtle complexity and naturally lower alcohol levels, hallmarks of cool climate viticulture.
While the region has long been known for its rich agricultural and horticultural heritage, its boutique wine industry is steadily gaining recognition. Local winemakers continue to impress, earning medals at some of Australia's most prestigious wine shows and cementing Bathurst’s place on the wine lover’s map.
